High-speed bulk pump insertion: a robotic machine designed by UNISTA

How can you insert loose, completely disorganized pumps into cases with bottles—at high speed and without interruption?
This is the industrial challenge that UNISTA has overcome with this fully custom-built machine.

THE CHALLENGE:
Pumps fed in bulk, without prior organization, to be inserted into cases high speed, without slowing down the line and without placement errors.

THE SOLUTION:
Two 6-axis ABB robots, guided by infrared vision, detect each pump in real time, pick it up, and place it precisely into the case a fraction of a second. Parts that are not picked up are automatically recirculated to maintain a continuous production rate.

The result: a continuous flow, with disorder transformed into industrial precision—all without a dedicated operator at this station.

AT A GLANCE:
• 2 ABB 6-axis robots
• Real-time infrared vision
• Automatic part recirculation
• 0 production downtime

This type of solution exemplifies the UNISTA approach: designing machines tailored to your actual constraints, not to theoretical use cases.
